Location and General Information

The Estate is located on the outskirts of Bloemfontein next to the northern suburb, Heuwelsig. It can be reached from the city by turning from Dan Pienaar Drive into Lucas Steyn Street. This street later becomes Frans Kleinhans Road. The turn off to the estate is about 2 kilometres outside the borders of Heuwelsig. See Maps for directions.

The Home Owners’ Association itself provides most of the municipal services to residents and is responsible for the maintenance of the infrastructure of the estate and for the supply of water and electricity. Services such as maintenance of electric and water infrastructure, roads, street lights and parks are rendered and paid for by the levy income from members. Water and electricity are purchased in bulk by the Association and sold to members on a pre-paid system. Other municipal services such as garbage removal as well as services like fire-brigade and ambulance services are provided by the Mangaung Local Authority.

As at March 2013 the development consists of 707 full title erven for single residences and 22 completed sectional title townhouse complexes with 462 units and one Health Care Centre with 51 units. The development of one more townhouse complex with between 30 and 50 units and a shopping centre at the main entrance gate will probably commence during 2013/2014.

The Estate has been developed in six phases. As at March 2013 all but four erven that were directly available for sale from the developer, have already been sold out. Approximately 527 homes have already been completed and 62 were under construction.

Strict regulations apply for the building of houses and the design of gardens on the estate (See Rules and Regulations of Woodland Hills Wildlife Estate).
